What is a Prescription Drug Formulary?

A prescription drug formulary exists for each Part D plan and is essentially the foundation of the plan.

This is a fancy term which is simply a list of the medications that your plan covers.

You will get an abridged version of this formulary with your “Welcome Kit” when you enroll in a plan.

Many people find it useful to keep it handy and take it with them when going to the doctor.

By providing your doctor with this information, it helps the doctor help you when choosing a medication for your particular diagnosis.
